Where children are free to explore and create
Welcome to Creative Makers
Hi, my name is Becca, and I am the founder of Creative Makers.
I am an experienced secondary school teacher, having taught and led departments in Art & Design, Textiles and Photography. Alongside my professional background, I am also a parent to two children in the local school community. Both my personal and professional experiences have shaped the values and purpose behind Creative Makers.
Creative Makers was established to provide a safe, calm and inclusive creative space for children who may need something different from mainstream clubs. We currently run art-focused after-school and holiday provision, with a particular focus on supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), anxiety, emotional challenges, or those who find larger or busier settings overwhelming. We actively welcome children who may not be able to access other extracurricular activities.
Our sessions are child-centred, flexible and trauma-informed, using creativity as a way to support wellbeing, confidence and self-expression. Children are encouraged to work at their own pace, make choices, and explore materials in a way that feels safe and supportive.
Alongside our existing provision, Creative Makers is developing a new daytime creative provision, coming soon. This will offer a calm, structured and creative alternative during the school day for children and young people who are unable to fully access mainstream education or are struggling to engage within a school setting. Delivered in small groups within a dedicated creative studio, the daytime provision will support emotional regulation, confidence and communication through meaningful creative work.
This programme is currently in development and will launch once our new creative studio is complete. Parents, carers and professionals are welcome to get in touch to register interest or discuss suitability.
